Trading for Hanley Ramirez...WHIR

Postby Tireur » Fri Jul 03, 2009 2:51 am

10 team mixed league. I got extra bats and I'm looking to trade some away and do a two or three for one trade.

Here's my lineup right now

C: Victor Martinez
1B: Mark Teixera
2B: Robinson Cano
3B: Chipper Jones
SS: Ben Zobrist
OF: Justin Upton
OF: Adam Jones
OF: Carl Crawford
DH: Alexei Ramirez
BN: Aramis Ramirez
BN: Josh Hamilton

So I'm thinking something along the lines of an Adam Jones, Alexei Ramirez, Aramis Ramirez for Hanley Ramirez trade offer. Should I offer more or less? Any suggestions? I personally want to hold onto Crawford for the saves, and I can't let go of Victor or Teixera because I have no one to fill their position. I'd rather hold onto Chipper over Aramis since I know Chipper is healthy (for now).

But throw out some suggestions for me. The guy I'm trade offering has a horrible lineup right now and can use upgrades anywhere and everywhere for the most part on his team (he's currently last in my league).

Thanks for the help!

So...many...Ramirez's.

As it is, I think you're giving up too much. Hanleys great but Alexei is certaintly a solid enough SS (as is Zobrist), Aramis is a top 3B (if he is in good form when he comes back), and Jones is a top outfielder. And on the contrary, I'd rather trade Chipper than Aramis (even more injury-prone if at all possible).

highly doubt the owner with hanley will accept that. jones WAS a top OF for the first 2 months of the season but has fallen back to earth hard in june. alexei was overhyped this offseason and is turning it around now but he can't be mentioned in the same breath as hanley. aram is great when healthy but owning him is a giant risk this season because when you separate your shoulder once there is a great chance it will happen again, and this was his third occurance over his career, so one diving play at 3rd could put him on the DL again. Honestly i do not think it is worth giving up what it will take to get hanley right now. hanley is dealing with an injury himself (i think groin or hamstring) and it is the type of injury that will effect his steals the rest of the season because he will be playing through it. He has already been caught stealing 7 times with only 12 SB, which means he could very well fall short of 30. to get hanley i'm sure the owner will be looking at something more like teix, crawford, alexei, unless its just a dimwit owner. good luck.
