Sabathia for Bay

Postby DiMoTik » Thu Jul 02, 2009 2:55 pm

My team:

C Kurt Suzuki
1B Lance Berkman
2B Chase Utley
3B David Wright
SS Stephen Drew
OF Jason Bay
OF Shin-Soo Choo
OF Carlos Lee
U Carlos Pena
SP Tim Lincecum
SP Chad Billingsley
SP Josh Johnson
SP Felix Hernandez
SP Aaron Cook
RP Ryan Franklin
RP Brian Wilson

Bench Adam Jones
Bench Pablo Sandoval
Bench Max Scherzer
Bench Edinson Volquez
Bench Jake Peavy

I was offered Sabathia for Bay, but he said he would take Pena, Berkman, Utley, or Wright. I am leaning towards Pena because I feel Berkman is coming out of his early season funk and I can replace him with Sandoval and not really miss a step. I think without Bay my outfield becomes a little week. Utley and Wright are definite have a no trade clause built into their fantasy contracts. What do you guys think of this deal?

btw, I'm in a 10 team CBS head-to-head league and the way the league is scored you really have to have the best pitching staff in order to win. I already have the best pitching staff in the league, but Sabathia would secure that position especially if one of them gets hurt.

I would do Pena no question. Pena will fall and Sabathia would be a good way to secure your already great pitching staff. You won't miss much with putting Sandoval in either, he is having a good year and I think he can keep it up.

Help with mine? Im hoping to make a trade today: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=392359

I wish I could get CC for Pena. Give him Pena in a hearbeat.

I think Pena will hit more hrs and their averages will be closer then many think.Slight edge to Bay. Bay is a .270 hitter and has come back to earth. Look at last night. 5 K's in 5 at bats. But if your outfield will be weaker sounds like you need to do Pena.

Definitely trade Pena, don't get rid of Berkman...I think he is going to have a much better "Berkman" like second half.

Plus you get the occasional steal with him.
