I've made a ton of moves recently to shake up the roster and in the process I've gotten rid of some of my top, top keeper talent in exchange for a much deeper squad. As such, I'm also going to have some big-time decisions and wheeling-and-dealing this offseason to parse my keeper squad down to seven names.
So, how would you rank these players for a 10 team, 5x5, H2H league with no restrictions on keepers (can only keep 7, but you can have them until they're using a walker to get to the plate)
M. Wieters R. Howard D. Pedroia M. Reynolds A. Ramirez J. Rollins J. Upton G. Sizemore M. Ramirez D. Ortiz
T. Lincecum C. Hamels J. Lester J. Johnson F. Hernandez J. Broxton
(note: I've left off everyone I wouldn't deem keeper worthy but decided to include guys like Ortiz and Broxton becuase some people might see them as top-70 or 80 talents)
And if you have someone higher/lower than most people would let me know why...I'm just curious to see what people think about this team.
M. Wieters R. Howard D. Pedroia M. Reynolds A. Ramirez J. Rollins J. Upton G. Sizemore M. Ramirez D. Ortiz

that is five. Then I think it will depend on second half. How does Sizemore fair the rest of the season. I have heard he will have surgery after the season so he probably won't be his old self this year or for part of next year. Does Weiters adjust? Does Rollins figure things out? Then you have Howard. So take the first five and then two of the last four depending on how their numbers are at the end of the season.

You have some pitching depth to deal. In your league with 10 teams I would shy away from keeping too many pitchers.

Thanks! Leave a link, I'll respond in kind.
I would keep: Lincecum Howard Sizemore Rollins Pedroia Hamels Broxton
The others in order: Man-Ram A-Ram Lester King Felix Weiters Johnson Upton Reynolds Ortiz
C- Weiters MI- Pedroia, Desmond, Nick Franklin CI- Beltre, Longoria, Kendrys Morales, OF- Braun, Craig, Aoki, Jennings SP- King Felix, Darvish, Sale, S Miller, A Cobb, Cingrani, Teheran, Garza, G Cole, Bundy RP- Mujica
Hmmmm...interesting. I'm surprised someone wouldn't consider Sizemore to be a slam dunk at this point, and it's also interesting to me that Reynolds gets absolutely no love here. I know there are some big names ahead of him, but this is a dude who's on pace for something ridiculous like 110 45 120 30 .275...whether or not he keeps it up is the biggest question, of course, but I'm just a bit surprised that people don't at least have him up around Felix or JJ.
1.T. Lincecum 2. G. Sizemore 3. R. Howard 4. F. Hernandez 5. C. Hamels 6. J Johnson 7. J Broxton 8. J Lester 9. D. Pedroia 10. Manny 11. Wieters 12. J Upton 13. Mark Reynolds
Are you talking about Alexei or Aramis Ramirez? I'd put Alexei between Hamels and Johnsno, and I'd put Aramis between Manny and Wieters
Ortiz and Rollins do not merit consideration as keepers in any league.

Sorry, it's Aramis...completely forgot there are two of them.

I can see Ortiz not being a consideration. But Rollins? He was a top-20 keeper going into this season...sure he's been terrible and there's still an entire 2nd half to figure out if he's going to turn it around. But no consideration at all? That seems a little much to me.
Also, no offense but I can't imagine having Upton any worse than 5th on this list...I know I'm asking for people's advice but he's a 21 year old putting up numbers that few in the history of the game ever have. If the season ended today he'd have the 9th best OPS in the history of the game for a 21 year old, behind guys like Shoeless Joe, Jimmie Foxx, Mel Ott and Ted Williams. I'm not sure that's someone I'd be ranking lower than 12th on an OVERALL keeper list, let alone this one of my guys. Anyway, rant aside, anyone else have a thought on where you'd put these guys?
