I think BChad was arguing the point that he's MLB ready, then showed statistics proving why he's not. I'd have to agree with him there. He is not ready to face MLB pitching, and his K/BB shows that pretty clearly, IMO.

Oh, I agree. I've thought that Jackson should spend all year in AAA even before the season started. He has things to work on. But BChad calling it a homer line of thinking was overly harsh, especially since it is true that whether he is ready or not, Jackson most likely would be in the majors on a good amount of teams.
Back to the main topic, the Yankees chances of trading for Pierre just went from slim to none has they acquired Eric Hinske today.
I really hope Pierre gets into a good situation on a new team. He's taken a lot of grief for that huge contract the Dodgers gave him, which really should be directed at the Dodgers front office. From everything I've heard and seen, despite his defensive weaknesses, he's a good guy to have in the clubhouse, and has always been a good lead-off man.

I think with the reemergence of Pods that this may not be a need anymore for Chicago.

That's a very interesting fit right there, especially since it seems like Reyes may not be able to do much running even when he comes back.
They could use Pierre at the leadoff spot to take over for Reyes, and move Reyes down in the order to help lessen the blow of losing Beltran's bat.
That said, he'll most likely just stay with LA since they have use for him as a 4th OF, insurance, and a bat off the bench to leadoff a late inning and/or steal a bag a la Dave Roberts. It's a shame though, he really could be more useful full time.

this was my line of thinking as well. before pods anyways. then again pods isn't that good to begin with, so they may do it anyways.
I dont see the Dodgers moving him at all, They'd have to pay most of his contract to anyone they trade him to almost. And he is more useful to give the other OF's a day off and to be a late inning baserunner bench hitter or leadoff hitter. I think the Dodgers sit on him.

Thank you. I agree with this assessment much more. I thought the any statement was a bit of hyperbole, this I will agree with.
