The other owner needs stolen bases and I need batting average help. With that in mind, is this a fair offer?...or do I need to add in a player like Ludwick or Kubel to the deal?
I guess it depends on how badly he needs steals. You clearly win the trade IMO, getting the two best players in the deal. Nothing wrong with offering it to open up communication and see what happens - you're giving up enough quality players that it shouldn't be taken as insulting (especially if there's a need for speed on the other team). Be ready to be asked for more though. And if there is a counter, I don't think it'll be as easy as you losing your bench outfielders. It might be asking for a different SP exchange - either giving up someone worse than Lackey or getting someone better than Lilly.

While it doesn't hurt to ask, I don't think he'll go for it even with Kuroda. I think the quicker route might be to leave Phillips/Utley out of the equation. I just don't think he'll want to lose 2 players widely considered top 6-8 overtall when the only 1st rounder he'd get back is a nicked Sizemore. You still win the trade without the 2B upgrade.
