need help with lineup changes, whir!

Postby BigRy » Sat Jun 27, 2009 2:20 pm

Hey,

I play in a 14 team rotisserie league. The scoring is standard.

I currently need help with my position lineup. I am falling behind in steals and also my 3b position is a mess. Here is my current lineup.

C Soto
1b Helton
2b Cano
3b Kouzmanoff ( just recenlty picked him up)
ss Drew
of Braun
of Bay
of Upton
Util Choo
Util Hairston(recently added)
Bench Blaylock
DL Asdrubral Cabrera

When Cabrera comes off the DL my choices to drop are Hairston, Kouz, or Blaylock. I have to keep either Kouz or Blaylock. Other 3b options are Atkins ( and yes im a rockies so fan so i know of this tricky situation going on there), Chris Davis, the 3b LaRoche or Pedro Feliz.

Now I also need steals. I had Taveras but I couldnt keep up with is sorry performances so i dumped him. I am seriously considering pickup Brett Gardner. He is playing well, taking bats from Melky, and is one Johnny Damon injury away from a full time gig. Even in his semi regular duty he is a stolen base machine. Dexter Fowler is also an option.

I am not going to drop any pitching spots right now so I will leave pitchers out.

So, who would you drop and who would you pick up from the information I've given.

Here are the scenarios. I will be activating Cabrera shortly so Ill have to drop Hairston, Blaylock, or Kouz.

Then if I want to add Gardner Id have to drop another of the group Hairston, Blaylock, or Kouz.

Finally should I bag Blaylock and Kouz and use a different 3b from the group of Atkins, Davis, Feliz, or Coghlan?

Thanks and WHIR!!!! please leave link

Ry

blalock, hairston and kouzmanoff all seem pretty equal. none of them jump out to me as must drops or as must keeps. atkins intrigues me a great deal but not sure if he's worth another move.

How about dropping Kouz and trying to trade for Chone Figgins. He has 3B eligibility and speed, so you'd be killing two birds with one stone by acquiring him. You of course need to give up one of your better players, but you wouldn't necessarily have to give up one of your elite players to get him.

I'd drop Blalock and grab Davis to play 3rd. Then I'd drop Kouz when Cabrera comes of the DL. I'm assuming the Hairston is S. Hairston rather than J. Hairston. I like the idea of trading for Figgins. I'm not a fan of adding people like Taveras/Gardner just to get steals. Try offering something like Cano for Figgins and then let Cabrera play 2B when he comes of the DL.

I love the idea of trying to trade for Figgins. The team that has Figgins is in dead last and is basically a dead owner. Really stinks. Great idea though. I sent him a trade offer unfortunately Ill be shocked if I hear back.

I also like the Figgins idea. What did you offer him?

Sorry about the late reply, I've been out of the country and away from the computer. Figgins is your best bet. Do you know the owner, i.e., could you approach him directly and bypass the fantasy system? If not, then I guess your best bet is to stick with Blalock and try to pick up some cheap speed at another position. Aside from Blalock, I think you're fine dropping the other two...
