Jake Fox enough ABs??

Postby hammylinky » Fri Jun 26, 2009 11:37 am

I'm in an NL only league and Jake Fox is available. He has been playing more lately and putting up good numbers. I'm thinking of picking him up for my utility spot and cutting Fontenot who has been awful this year. But do you think Fox will get enough regular at bats with the Cubs? Thanks.

i doubt he keeps up the AB personally. he's been playing DH since interleague has been going on but once that is over, they will have to find him a spot. he won't be taking Lee's job at 1b so i could see him returning to a pinch hit role if not shipped back to 3A.

I have to agree with the above post. I grabbed Fox in a deep 20 teamer, I knew what I was getting but since I still had Clete Thomas on my roster there was no real risk. I don't expect Fox to be useful once interleague play concludes.

Fox played at 3rd today and had great offensive numbers. He had 2 runs, 2 rbis 1 HR and went 3-4 in the 6th hole. He hit in the 5th hole yesterday. He went 3-4 with 1 run 3 rbi and a HR. Hopefully he gets most of the looks at 3rd until ARam comes back after the all star break.

My advice is this:

He is a great risk to pick up right now, but could give you huge rewards if injuries or trades happen to give him room in the Cub lineup. If nothing else be sure to grab him in all keeper league formats. Especially while ARam is out. The guy was MASHING in the minors before his call up, and doesn't seem to be letting up in the majors.
Be the change you want to see in this world.
