F. Hernandez or J. Verlander?

Postby roundBallJef » Fri Jun 26, 2009 10:59 am

I have a strong team, in 2nd place, and would like to shore up my SP. I want to go after on of these guys in a trade.

Which is the 1st choice to go after for the remainder of the season, and who should I offer?

My Team:

Joe Mauer
Albert Pujols
Aaron Hill
Kevin Kouzmanoff
Alexei Ramírez
Derrek Lee
Jhonny Peralta
B.J. Upton
Matt Kemp
Adam Lind
Justin Upton
Grady Sizemore
Carlos Peña
Álex Ríos
Ian Stewart
Gordon Beckham
DL - Aramis Ramirez
DL - Ryan Doumit
DL - Alex Gordon

Pitching -
CC Sabathia
Matt Cain
Mariano Rivera
Brian Fuentes
Johan Santana
Heath Bell
James Shields
Tommy Hanson
Johnny Cueto
Scott Baker
Rich Harden
John Danks

I am in a keeper league, and am looking to win this year.
Thanks, WHIR

I see them as being pretty equal in fantasy value. In my mid season leagues I put them in my queues at the same time as a target for my 1st pitcher. I think Verlander would be harder to get in a trade, so I'd target Felix. As for who you should offer, I don't answer those questions. You need to ask the guy who owns him.

It's very close but I like verlander better. I always thought felix had the most upside of any pitcher, but Verlander's recent hot streak has me thinking that his best is simply better than felix's best. They are both equally consistent/inconsistent, so you've gotta go with verlander here (his peripherals indicate that he's been the best SP in baseball this season).

thx for the help w/ mine.
for the pitchers, i'd prefer jver over felix, but he's been pretty sick w/ just a couple of hiccups recently. as for who to offer, i think part of it depends on what his roster looks like and where his weaknesses are.
good luck!
