DL killing me

Now it gets painful....

Most of these injuries came in the last two weeks, and suddenly I have six guys on the DL (three slots available).

The thinking is to wait for Cabrera, who might come off the DL this week. If he does, I can finally drop JJ Hardy's sorry carcass and bench Drew. Beltran, Ibanez, and Downs will be back after the break. Peavy, maybe the first of August. Delgado, who knows? I've been stashing Delgado in preparation for a playoff run in September. If these guys get back and healthy, this would be the #1 team in the league.

CJ Wilson (who hasn't pitched in a week, thank you very much Ron Washington) is also a likely drop candidate.

I think September is a long ways away and Delgado may or may not be worth it, I'm thinking he won't be. I think you need some depth at 3B. Branyan has been a great story this season but he has always been streaky, I'd look around for a FA at 3B just for back up.

I would seriously think about dropping peavy. The earliest he comes back is August, but why would he? the padres aren't in the hunt and they can't trade him anywhere. Even if he does come back what is he good for maybe 10 starts? If you figure only his first start back will be bad, is it still worth it to hold onto a guy all season who will only now give you the potential for 9 quality starts? If you had the DL spot for him I might keep him but at this point you don't and I think you should move on.

i think you are fine with dropping delgado, i doubt anyone will pick him up for atleast two more months.

Wow man. I have Beltran, Reyes, Cabrera, Doumit and Lidge all on the DL. I just dropped Hardy for Doumit because I think once hes off the DL he can help me out in the catcher spot since i have slumping Martin and streaky Molina. CJ Wilson wont be closing soon so I dropped him for Greene to replace Hardy in the meantime until Cabrera heals up. I say def. drop HArdy and Wilson when you get a chance. I think picking up Scott Hairston to replace one of your OFs could be a good temporary move. He was ripping it before going on the DL. He should be available. I think people forgot about him once he got in the DL. For pitching, take a look at Ricky Romera. I think hes another sleeper.
