Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I will return the favor. Thank You in advance!!!!
I think a major issue is that you have way too many players from the same team. If its a head to head league that could be an issue because when the yankees have a bad stretch of games that really hurts you.
The time table for the Reyes injury is really up in the air. I'd try to sell him for whatever you can get especially if you have another guy go on the DL. Shop your yankees around too. I'm sure you can get some good value out of A-Rod, or Jeter based on name recognition alone.
If you're going to get rid of any of the Yankees, make it Jeter. A-Roids will return to his normal "juiced" self soon, don't worry about it. After the break he should be a beast again. And Cano is having a career year for him, he has a higher AVG then Jeter and also has more HRs and more RBIs. Posada is just Posada. You're probably not going to be able to get a better catcher then him from FAs.
I'd shop Jeter and Abreu for a big bat. Or, you could look in the FA market for a big bat. Usually at least someone with decent pop in there.
I think the real problem here is that you have too few Yankees. Try selling high on Manny or trading Reyes for Teix, you might have to throw in Bedard or Holliday. If Matsui is available in your league, drop Scutaro to pick him up. I would then try and get Johnny Damon. Then, feel free to exchange your bench for Brett Gardner, Nick Swisher, and Melky Cabrera, hopefully all of whom are free agents.
I can't see any reason why this wouldn't vault you into 1st place.
