My McLouth $4, Wieters $4, Cain, Overbay and Hochevar
for his Miggy, CC Sabathia and Josh Geer

I'm making a run for the money, and he's doing the deal so that he can keep Mclouth and Wieters for next year.

My first reaction is that I'm giving up too much, because for these types of dump deals, the team giving up the protectibles always get more in return, and I'm giving up two pretty good ones. Or am I overvaluing the players I have?

End result:
Shoppach goes in for Wieters (I lose here)
Miggy goes in for Overbay (huge gain there)
Andruw Jones in for McLouth (I lose here)
CC goes in for Cain (Cain's been pretty good so far, so I don't know the result here).
Geer goes in for Hochevar

Super deep 22 team league, 26 players per team, $275 cap, 5x5 roto

My gut instinct is to reject this, especially looking at the end result... I don't think I gain. Your thoughts?

I think you are giving up a lot for a keeper league. Also, CC may have a minor injury still. Like you said, Cain has pitched really well recently. I would not make this trade.

thanks for your help with mine. i've never played in a keeper league, but I do think that Miggy and Sabathia are the two top players in the trade for this year, so if you are prepared to make a move to try to win it all right now, it's not an awful trade. I would see if you can counter with something a little more balanced but still keeping the spirit of the trade alive. Does he have a catcher and/or another outfielder that would be an upgrade over Shoppach and Jones respectively?

I don't like it at all. Cain has been dominant this year and I'm sure comes at a lower keeper price, Weiters is one of the top keepers out there, if you move him it should be ano brainer.

Thanks for your help
Don't think meat it can only hurt the team

Here's another scenario
Torri Hunter and Miggy OR CC
for
McLouth, Wieters, Hochevar, David Hernandez
(Hernandez is included to keep me under the cap)

Still doesn't blow me away.... what do you think?
