LOL I guess if you stay away from all areas where people live. Cali does have nice mountains and an ocean. But the downside is the massive amount of traffic and commercialization.

It's just not THAT exciting. Colorado is pretty bad arse though

I recommend Melbourne.

You have poor taste in travel destinations then.
Melbourne is the dreariest, most uninteresting and over-rated place I've ever been, and I've been there a lot (is driving distance).

Not that exciting...please. California is an awesome state, there's a reason so many people want to live there. Yeah you have the congested cities but there are some very beautiful places in Cali. The Redwood forest is breathtaking, pretty much the entire coast line is gorgeous as well. Do yourself a favor and visit Big Sur, Monterey, and Carmel. Carmel is one of my favorite places ever, it's also where I popped the question, and of course you can't beat San Diego. As far as cities go San Francisco is one of my favorites, so much to do. That's just off the top of my head...the west coast is the best coast.
