MCab/Murphy/Getz for Ellsbury/Peralta/Butler?(WHIR)

Postby kidsilk » Sat Jun 20, 2009 10:10 pm

AL only league, 10 teams, 23 man rosters, 7 keepers with 3 year contracts, 5x5 roto style.

I have been offered Ellsbury( 1year left), Peralta(3 years left) and Butler(2 years left) for my MCab(1 year left), David Murphy(3 years left) and Getz(3 years left). I am currently in third place but 3rd through 7th place is bunched up only 6 points separating all of us. My biggest area of concern is SB where I am barely in 9th place but could make a nice move up with the addition of Ellsbury. I wouldn't be losing much in avg but not sure if the loss of power with MCab is too much. I mean Peralta and Butler should increase their power numbers as the season progresses and losing Murphy and Getz for them doesn't hurt. So, what would you guys do?

Here is my roster:

C-Wieters
C-Zaun
1B-MCab
2B-J. Lopez
SS-M. Itzturis
3B-ARod
MI-Getz
CI-Konerko

No way. If I was giving up Cabrera I'd be sure I was getting a lot more than Ellsbury in return. I'd look for a cheaper way to get some SBs, MCab's just too good.

I'd agree with the last post. There's is no way I trade MCab for Ellsbury which is really what this trade is. You can pretty much ignore the other 4 players. You ought to be able to get a decent guy with some power along with Ellsbury. MCab is bar far the best player in this deal. Don't do it.
