Help with league setup

Postby Guest » Tue Mar 16, 2004 3:27 pm

We are having trouble figuring out how many pitchers to allow on each team. This is the current setup:

Teams
16+

Categories
W, L, K, ERA, WHIP, Sv, Hd

Pitchers
SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P

Innings
1250

With the addition of Holds for this year, should we increase the pitching staffs (and innings). We're worried about thinning the pool to much.

Thanks for your help.

I've never been in a league that big, but it seems that you won't have enough pitchers to cover all the categories thoroughly enough leading to a sacrifice of categories, leading to underuse of starting pitchers. I like the pitching aspect, so to only go 3 deep on SPs per team doesn't seem very fun. Everyone will stick with the basic few elite players leading to less activity. Boring.

Also, if you do add pitching, definitely add innings to compensate.

With the extra category, I'd probably add an extra SP or P spot and change the max innings to 1350 or so.
