Braun/Reynolds for Longoria/Dye Plus More...100%WHIR

Postby philaphan » Sat Jun 20, 2009 2:11 pm

I was just sent this offer:

MY: Braun/Reynolds/Cuddyer/Greinke/Danks/Hanson
for
HIS: Longoria/Dye/Pence/Lester/Vazquez/Kershaw

I am not sure on this one. I hate trades with this many players but the offer did peak my interest. What is do you guys think????? My team is hurting right now! I have Ibanez, Peavy, Downs & C. Young all on the DL.

I am giving up the best 2 players but Longoria is very close in value to Braun. I am not sure on this one!

Advice Please....100% WHIR

Here is my team:
10 Team Head2Head 5X5 (Redraft)
C:Posada
1b:Berkman
2b:Phillips
3b:Reynolds
SS:Rollins
OF:Braun, Crawford, Lind
Util:Cuddyer
BN: Ibanez, Atkins, Ordonez
SP: Grienke, E. Jackson
RP: Soria, Papelbon
SP/RP: Scherzer, Danks, T. Hanson
BN: E. Santana, C. Young, S. Downs
DL: Peavy

Braun = Longoria
Greinke>Lester
Danks<Vazquez
Hanson>Kershaw
Reynolds<Dye
Cuddyer<Pence

i hate dealing this many players too, but this deal seems to work in your favor (especially in a redraft). You have the OF depth to part with Braun. You can slide Longoria into the 3b spot, now occupied by reynolds. Vazquez is a huge upgrade over danks (in my opinion). hanson in 3 starts already looks better than Kershaw. Dye and Pence are solid OFs to replace the loss of Braun. Yes your losing Grienke, but besides his unbelievable start he and Lester really aren't separated by that much.

i might just take this deal

EDIT: i just realized that i thought you were getting Hanson...sorry. Try to get him to take out the Hanson/Kershaw part.

please help

The other owner wants Braun. He is a huge Brewers fan and has been trying to get him from me all season. He already has Fielder, Hart and Gallardo.

I wouldn't do this, I believe that Reynolds is easily going to outperform Dye the rest of the way, and when Ibanez comes back you're OF is going to be a little crowded. I'd take Dye and Reynolds out of the trade and use Reynolds at Util. When Ibanez returns (which should be after his minimum 15 days) he'll slide right back into the OF. Does he have a SS slightly better than Rollins? If so think about tacking a SS swap on top of what is already a huge trade.

Help appreciated

His SS is Jeter and he will not swap. I am thinking of countering with

MY: Braun/Reynolds/Greinke/Danks/Santana
for
HIS: Longoria/Dye/Pence/Vazq/Lester/Kershaw

What do others think? 100% WHIR!

i wouldn't do that trade. in the long run if braun stays healthy will outproduce longoria. i think reynolds will outperform dye throughout the season as well. you're giving up 3 of the 4 best players involved in this trade.

I cannot really see what you are trying to do here. I would reduce the number of players in the trade and focus on what you really need.

Yeah I see what your saying jaguier88. I really need SP help but I really don't have the pieces right now with 4 guys on the DL. I will probably stand pat and what to get healthy before making any moves.
