After throwing on flat ground in KCity with the team, he's headed back to Arizona to have his right shoulder reevaluated again.

Not a good sign.

Prior to yesterday, his timetable was a week or two after the All-Star break.

I'm wondering how long I hold him on my DL spot.

I was wondering the same thing.

I only have three DL spots and I have the following players with DL status:

Webb - on my DL
Halladay
Sizemore - on my DL
Frank Francisco
Lidge - on my DL
Bedard

I was considering buying on him to a team who is out of the race in my keeper league but can't keep him. I'm glad I didn't. :-°

I'm in the same situation. I only have 1 DL spot and I'm currently carrying:
Sizemore (DL)
C. Quentin (DL)
F. Francisco (DL)
Bedard (DL)
J. Peavy (DL)
B. Webb (DL)

my pitching is just a wreck right now. If I was struggling for a playoff spot, I'd probably cut bait w/ Peavy and Carlos Quentin and try to make some moves. But right now I'm in 1st place, and crushing the 2nd place team 10-1-1 right now, so I'm just going to ride out all these injuries for another month, and see what happens.

I read some speculation somewhere in the last few days, i think on espn or rotoworld that if Webb keeps having setbacks and the D'Backs could eventually just shut him down for the year considering it looks like they have no playoff hopes this year.

Any thoughts on his keeper value? Its obviously taken a hit Im going to try move him to a team near the basement of my league who could use another keeper

Webb's MRI was scheduled to occur yesterday, but it's not expected to yield results until early next week as the team doctor is out of town. Just to keep the worrywarts away. :)

As for his keeper value, it depends on what the MRI shows. If he needs to visit Dr. James Andrews (for real, this time), then he's out for a year plus and I wouldn't keep him (I do currently have him on my main team, just traded for him last week, so I'd prefer that not be the outcome either). If it proves to just be something fairly simple or only enough to keep him out for the rest of this year, it would depend how deep your league is/how many keepers/etc.

I'd wait until the results are in, unless you are considering trading him now to hedge your exposure on him.

Personally, my gut says that this has "very long time" written all over it.

I have a feeling we're looking at a situation where we might not see him till mid '10. :-C
