Berkman... turned a corner? WHIR!!!

I'm thinking about targeting him, what kind of value does he command right now? I want him mostly for obp and hr purposes, but he's pretty far down the first baseman depth chart so far


has he turned it around? will he produce top 30 value for the rest of the year?

If you look at his career numbers, he looks pretty consistent. I would consider targeting him. What's your team and the Berkman owner's team look like?

I've had Berkman before and got frustrated with his slow start, but one way or the other, he seems to get his numbers. Many of his detractors say he is old, but he didn't age all at once. He was good last year (although last year his good half was the first half), and I don't know if he has turned it around yet, but I don't think he is through.

Bottom Line: I don't think it would be a bad idea to target him...the only caution I would advise is maybe not to expect as big of numbers as in the past.

If this is any help, he went straight up for Suzuki in one of my leagues about a month and a half ago, which unfortunately for the Suzuki owner, was before his hitting streak. He also went straight up for Soria in another league, before Soria went on the DL.

it's going to be a weird trade (I'm trading a draft pick for next year's draft for berkman... I'm trying to figure out which round Berkman justifies , he wants my third round pick)

it comes down to do I want to win this year... my offense is my team's strength, and berkman would certainly help make sure of that

So I could use some more power, I just don't know what to think of Berkman, is he worth a third round pick? He hasn't produced to warrant that so far, but he could turn it around and he would likely give me a boost I need to win this league, or at least insure my offense doesn't slow down

i'd go after fat puma, he was just dealt in our my league that you posted on my "papi/holliday for johan trade"

he's solid, good track record, slower first half and starting to take off, i'd do it now, might almost be too late....

If you can get him without giving up a lot of value, do it. He has been frustrating to own up until this point though, I must say.

I've been targeting him too, but depending on what you'd have to give up, I may or may not do it. If we're talking 3rd round DP in a keeper league, then I'd do it. But if this is a re-drat league, I don't think he's worth a 3rd round player.
