2000 max innings....

Postby amich1 » Tue Mar 16, 2004 2:44 pm

Commish just bumped up max innings in my 10 team roto league to 2000. Im wondering if this should change my draft strategy of drafting 2b 3b, C,1b,SS in that order early & filling in w/ rp,sp,of later (the deeper positions). Anyone been in a league w/ a bloated max inning limit? Is it gonna make a difference or should i just ignore it? We don't draft till next week........

What was it at?
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. -Crash Davis

that's a ton of innings. think it just means you could have multiple pitchers starting every day without running out of innings. my league had 1250 max innings last year and it ran out for most teams 1-2 wks before season end

i'm way too lazy to do the math, so i'll leave it up to u guys :-D

i'm in a league w/ 2000 IP limit too, how should i approach this? should i just start my pitchers anytime they pitch, or should i be somewhat conservative??

Vlade Dadde...

I would start them all, all the time. Say on average you get 200 innings per starter...you have 8 starters, that's 1600 innings. That plus your 6 relievers at around 75 innings each gives you 2050 innings. Now, you take out your occasional Coors Field start, or anything like that, and you're looking golden to keep all your pitchers in at every chance you get.
