Damon/Jeter Trade

Postby MotorCityKitties » Thu Jun 18, 2009 12:07 pm

12 team league 7x7 Keeper (K's and OPS for batters & Holds and K/BB for pitchers)

C: Sandoval
1B: MCab
2B: Cano
3B: Arod
SS: Theriot
OF: Beltran
OF: Hart
OF: Abreu
OF: Damon
Util: Morneau
Util: Cruz
Util: V Wells
BN: Sheffield
BN: Cuddyer
BN: Coghlan

SP: Jared Weaver
SP: Hamels
SP: Gallardo
RP: Street
RP: Qualls
RP: Downs
P: Wandy Rod
P: Baker
P: E. Santana
P: Howell
BN: Hughes
BN: Bucholz
BN: BJ Ryan
BN: R. Wells
BN: Pena
DL: Brian Bruney
DL: Peavy

Should I trade damon for Jeter. I'm a little sick of Theriot. I drafted him for decent steals and low K's, but he has been one of the highest strikeout guys on my team. This would be a net loss in steals for me, but I just traded for Vernon Wells who has been terrible, but he's been running a lot.

you could use an upgrade at SS - make sure Jeter's ankle is OK going forward

Thanks, rotoworld says he's not in the lineup again today so I will wait until tomorrow before making a decision.

Does anyone else have an opinion on this trade?

Its not a bad trade...I just see Damon working right field at Yankee stadium all year and putting up unusual HR numbers.

Yes, do this deal. Damon will get hit with his usual DL stint. You need Jeter, and you know what you get with Jeter. He is still good.

I had to look up some stats given the structure of your league. Jeter is beating Damon in almost every category except HR. I particularly wanted to check that he has a better OBP and fewer Ks, which he does. Sure Damon benefits from the new stadium, but so does Jeter. It also appears that you would go from playing Theriot + Damon to Jeter + Sheffield/Cuddyer. I like the second pairing much better. I'd do the deal.

There's 7 batting categories and Damon is better in 4 of them. R, HR, RBI and OPS

i think jeter played today. you need the help at SS for sure, so i'd do this. damon is hitting big time, but jeter is mr. consistency. OF's are easier to find on waivers than good SS, so i'd do it.

your OF depth makes this trade even better as long as Jeter is healthy
