Greinke/Hernandez/Galardo 4 Holliday/Sizemore/Millwood WHIR

Postby Johnny Deuce » Thu Jun 18, 2009 10:13 am

I'm in a 12 team, H2H, yahoo league, non-keeper.
Stats;
R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG
W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP

I put Greinke, Felix Hernandez and Gallardo on the trading block because I'm willing to trade away ONE of them. So a guy in my league sent me the trade;
I give up - Greinke, Hernandez and Gallardo
I get - Holliday, Sizemore and Millwood

Now, I'm rejecting the deal, but I need help with a counter offer. This guy has tried to lowball me before, but I'm in desparate need of HR's and RBI's. My pitching is solid and I can spare to loose one pitcher. I don't want Sizemore or Holliday. I want to make an offer for Martinez, Youkilis, Reynolds, or someone thats a power hitter.

Currently, I'm in 3rd place and he is in 7th. BJ Upton's slow season has hurt me, same with Quentin's injury....and it looks like he may be out for the season.

My team;

C - Pablo Sandoval
1B - Derek Lee
2B - Aaron Hill
3B - Mike Lowell
SS - Hanley Ramirez
OF - Carl Crawford
OF - BJ Upton
OF - Curtis Granderson
Util - Matt Wieters
BN - Casey Blake
BN - Ian Stewart
BN -Alex Gordon
DL - Carlos Quentin

SP - Chad Billingsley
SP - Zack Greinke
RP - Jonathon Broxton
RP - Matt Lindstrom
P - Felix Hernandez
P - Yovani Gallardo
P - Ricky Romero
BN - Kevin Gregg
BN - Joel Hanrahan

His Team;

C - Victor Martinez
1B - Kevin Youkilis
2B - Ben Zobrist
3B - Mark Reynolds
SS - Felipe Lopez
OF - Matt Holliday
OF - Matt Kemp
OF - Jason Kubel
Util - Jacoby Ellsbury
BN - Shane Victorino
BN - Rafael Furcal
BN - Grady Sizemore (DL)

SP - Kevin Millwood
SP - Brad Bergesen
RP - Andrew Bailey
RP - Dallas Braden
P - Ted Lilly
P - Carl Pavano
P - Jason Marquis
BN - Hiroki Kuroda
BN - Derek Lowe
DL - Scott Kazmir

I'd sell high on Greinke and package him with Wieters to get Martinez + someone...

It's hard to say because the trade he offered is so dumb you should try and rip him off with a few brand names

yeah i'd say dont deal all 3 haha, of course....

deal greinke first, then f-her, then gallardo last....

but thats all your choice.

I'd deal ONE plus something and get the best stick, not guys coming off the DL, etc....

thanks for helping with mine

Thanks for the advise so far.

A little update, another team offered me this trade;

I give; Yovani Gallardo
I get; Adam Lind and Tommy Hanson

Lind is having a great season, and has a homer and 3 RBI's against the Phillies today. But I'm not sure if he will keep it up for the rest of the season.

Here is the guys roster;

C - Brandon Inge
1B - Adam Dunn
2B - Brian Roberts
3B - A-ROD
SS - Troy Tulowitzki
OF - Nelson Cruz
OF - Adam Jones
OF - Adam Lind
UTIL - David Wright
BN - Andre Either
BN - Torii Hunter

SP - Dan Haren
SP - Tommy Hanson
RP - Chad Qualls
RP - Frank Francisco (DL)
P - LaTroy Hawkins
P - Josh Beckett
P - David Price
BN - Johan Santana
BN - Rich Harden
BN - John Lackey

As much as I love Lind, I hesistate on this because I think it's a sell high on Hanson and Lind. All in all, however, its probably a decent return if they can sustain.
I'd field some offers and test the water a little more before pulling the trigger that sends away one of the elite SP in baseball.

Give up Sandoval and Gallardo for VMart and Milwood or another SP who you like from his team.

Thanks for your help
