Big CC/Ichiro offer

Postby Darth Danielus » Wed Jun 17, 2009 8:56 pm

Just wondering what your thoughts are on the following offer I recieved;

my sabathia/soto/bruce FOR ichiro/wieters/dunn/buehrle....its a 10 team roto keeper (keep 5 each of batters & pitchers) and soto cannot be kept. I could probably get buehrle improved to someone else slightly better....but I'm wondering what folks think of this as is. In general terms, my pitching has been great (and deep) and my batters have been abysmal.

I actually like the deal for you even without Buehrle, especially since you can't keep Soto anyway, but I would see if you could get the upgrade from Buehrle. So that leaves CC, whom I like but do think was overrated this year, and Bruce, who is yet to prove himself and does not come near the hitters you are getting back.

P.S. - thanks for help on mine. I really liked your response because I read your post several days ago and expected to get a similar response on mine, so I was surprised by the responses before yours.

(I don't remember your exact deal - who were you trading along with CC? Let me know because it will give me a frame of reference. Thanks.)

I'm really not a Dunn fan, but I think he pushes this deal over the edge. I like it for you. Look at CC's K/9 numbers this year - they're scary low. He's not K'ing guys the same way he used to. You're getting Ichiro, which is huge, and then Wieters is an awesome keeper option. I'd definitely take this. Thanks for the help on mine.

OK...thanks for the responses so far... In reference to the post above from jwebb2244, would this deal be better then a potential CC + bruce FOR braun and slowey offer? I'm ready to pull the trigger on something here...just wanna make sure its the right one. Gotta say, ichiro doesn't excite me as much as braun...

Thanks for getting back to me with additional info. The only reason I can think of for the different responses to my Johan/your CC offer is the bad outing Johan just had.

At any rate, I hear what you say about kicking yourself for not taking it. I am leaning toward accepting because I think I will also kick myself if I don't. If you get a chance, let me know if you think it would be a mistake for me to accept.

Also, thanks again and good luck on yours...hope my input helped.

I like this deal for ya, but if you could Braun and Slowey for CC and Bruce....well you have to do that deal.

Thanks for the help guys...

It boils down to --- which of these deals is better for me?

CC Sabathia/J Bruce/M Gonzalez FOR R Braun/K Slowey/JP Howell

OR

C Sabathia/J Bruce/G Soto(unkeepable) FOR Ichiro/A Dunn/M Wieters/M Beuhrle

The first one is an offer from me, but almost identical to an offer made to me last week...the second one is just sitting there awaiting an "except" button press...
