Martinez/Wood/Ramirez for Peavy/Pedroia/Martin

Postby buddycowley » Wed Jun 17, 2009 7:25 pm

I'm looking to try to solidify the top spot in my 5x5 league this year. I"ve been sitting on top, but my placement in saves is holding me back a bit. My roster currently looks like this:

C - R. Martin
1B - Teixiera
2B - Pedroia
3B - Cantu
SS - Andrus
OF - Bay
OF - Braun
OF - Vlad G.
UTIL - Inge/Bourn/Teahen
SPs - Santana, Peavy, Shields, Webb, Volquez, Meche, Buehrle, Niemann, Zito, Duke, Bergesen
RPs - Nathan, Street, Tony A. Pena

The proposed deal is:
Peavy/Pedroia/R. Martin for Victor Martinez, Alexei Ramirez, and Andrew Bailey.

1. I feel like I might be able to get Kerry Wood instead of Bailey, but I feel like Bailey might be the better long-term keeper.
2. He told me he'd throw in someone like Wakefield or Swisher (though I don't need him), or soneone like Bastardo, Happ, or Westbrook to help out.

Is this deal too one-sided in his favor? I love the idea of getting a great catcher and a solid closer, but giving up Peavy and Pedroia seems almost too much to bear.
