smoltz/jp howell/madson WHIR

i own madson/lidge and with lidge coming back soon im wondering if i should pick up smoltz(drop madson) and then stash smoltz on the DL in place of lidge, then pick up jp howell. What do u guys think? its a risk since there is a chance lidge might falter again, but getting 2 extra potentials smoltz and howell by just dropping one sort of temporary guy seems like a good plan yes? or is madson just that good and howell isnt.

A healthy Smoltz with that Red Sox offense and pen is worth angling for if you can. If Lidge is healthy, he will have the job, so I say take a gamble here.

i guess i cant do simple math.....i dropped madson for smoltz...placed smoltz on DL and activated lidge, but now i have no room to pick up howell...i thought for some reason this move would create an open roster space.....plan backfired oh well

Don't drop Baker for Howell. Baker is finally coming around and should have a fine 2nd half.
