We have a game called MLFB Franchise GM where people took over the GM duties of major league teams. It is a 30-team dynasty league with bidding, contracts, extensions, buyouts, revenue sharing, and tiered salary caps to show different teams' markets. Currently, there is an opening for the Houston Astros, and the team has plenty of cap space and is in win-now situation (surprisingly without any management, and just the Astros players the team inherited, it is leading the NL Central!).
GMs of Reds, Cardinals, Rangers, Braves, and Cubs have been inactive and unresponsive so far, but I may wait until the off-season to replace such owners. Needless to say, with an advanced 30-team league like this, there is bound to be turnover, and MLFB is always looking to add good GMs to any of its leagues.
Playoffs start in this league tomorrow, so I figure now is a good time to let people know which franchises will have vacancies going into 2010.
The GMs of the Braves, Blue Jays, Cubs, and Reds are rumored to be losing their jobs due to inactivity. This is news to the Braves market considering the team is surely going to be the NL Wildcard tomorrow. Recently, the Texas Rangers GM has resigned due to interests in other pursuits. The Cardinals GM has been fired due to the GM's inability to make the big trades that would have helped this team down the stretch (not winning the NL Central, no Holliday). It is also rumored that GMs of the Royals, Mariners, Twins, and White Sox may vacate their positions to go to another club.
Definite openings: ATL, CHC, CIN, STL, TEX, TOR Possible openings: CHW, KC, MIN, SEA
PM me if interested with your credentials. This is an advanced league that only has two months of off-time during the holidays. Revenue sharing starts in October, Off-season FA starts in January...
