Obviously he's injured, for who knows how long... And if the Pads are out of it by the time he's remotely close to returning, they may shelve him to protect him until next year.
So I'm solid in pitching even without Peavy. Standard mixed 10 team 5x5 H2H league.
I currently have:
Matt Cain
Justin Verlander
Felix Hernandez
Adam Wainright
Clayton Kershaw
Johnny Cueto
Jon Lester
Ricky Nolasco
Jake Peavy
So I can survive using a bench spot for him if I and for the matter of this forum post, you think he can make an impact come the end of the season when playoffs happen.
However, here are some awesome people sitting in free agency which I could pick up...
Randy Johnson
John Smoltz
Tommy Hanson
Hiroki Kuroda
Andy Pettitte
I'm thinking Kuroda and Johnson are the best possible pickups... What do you guys think?
And if your wondering why he isn't on my DL... Well I have Aramis Ramirez and Josh Hamilton. As soon as one of them is healthy, Juan Pierre will be dropped and I'll pickup another pitcher.

Hold onto Peavy. Leave him on your bench. I don't like those WW options.

I think he could make an impact. i would hold onto him unless you hear otherwise. Once he goes for surgery, cut him.
Help with mine:

Bump-a-roo.
Anyone else think I should hold onto Peavy? I heard Bell over at ESPN say that 8 to 12 weeks is most likely, and that he'll have to spend a few more weeks past that regaining his strength, and that's given that his injury heals on it's own. If it doesn't, then he'll have to have season ending surgery. If his recovery takes too long, the Pads may just shelve him for the year to protect their very expensive investment.
I'm just a little scared, I obviously can't trade him, although I may try, and all those pitchers are still out on the waiver wire to be picked up.
