Who are "they," though? It's not as if MLB is releasing these names. If the New York Times had more names, they'd release them. Do you think MLB should release all of the names because a couple have leaked?
Yes.
2 names have been leaked already, the damage has been done, its going to be better if its done all at once than one name every couple of months.
I'm sure the other 102 guys on that list don't feel this way, especially considering they were tested for purposes of creating the current policies in place, and told their names would never be made public under any circumstance.
I know we already debated this ad nauseam in the A Rod thread, so I won't make another long post about it, but wanting MLB to release that list seems absolutely absurd to me.

Who'da thunk it?
I've always said McGwire did the right thing in that congressional meeting. Not taking part in that ridiculous witch-hunt made me respect him.
"Asking me or any other player to answer questions about who took steroids in front of television cameras will not solve the problem. If a player answers 'No,' he simply will not be believed; if he answers 'Yes,' he risks public scorn and endless government investigations. My lawyers have advised me that I cannot answer these questions without jeopardizing my friends, my family, and myself. I will say, however, that it remains a fact in this country that a man, any man, should be regarded as innocent unless proven guilty.""

MLB should just release the stupid list. At this point, is anyone surprised by this? Anyone?
Ya say Sammy went from a size 16 neck to a size 28 neck in just a few years by eating right and dedication in the gym? Yeah. We all believe that.
Preempt these ridiculous stories by "leaking" the whole stupid list, have it done, and let's get on with our lives, K?
If MLB released the list, I assume there would be an immediate lawsuit from the MLBPA (for breaking the CBA agreement). In fact, I wouldn't doubt that they have representatives that are looking into these leaks right now to make sure no other name gets out.
the original testing at the time was supposed to be anonymous and the names were never to be made public. anyone who leaks the names, should they not face some type of legal ramifications? the NY times arnt the ones releasing the names, but they got the names from somewhere. the NY Times should have to go to court and say where they got their information from. whoever they got the names from that leaked these names should have to face a punishment.
none of the names should have come out. the players agreed to the testing based on the test results never being public.
A) The newspaper isn't subject to an agreement made by other people. B) The right to a confidential source is the cornerstone of free press. They very, very rarely break that rule for extraordinarily important trials. They're not going to do it over baseball players and steroids.
