A junior in high school putting up stupid #s against kids 2-5 years older does not impress you?

older or not, it's still JUCO. Let's see him do in the minors, then I'll be impressed.

JUCO skill is equivalent to low A ball, from what I've read.

And he's absolutely embarrassing everyone in that league.

and if you watch the video, it's clear that the ump was 100% wrong. Sure, Harper shouldn't have showed him up like that, but it's probably not worthy of getting thrown out (unless the rules are a little more strict in college than in the pros).

But the ball was at least a foot outside.

I don't know, drawing a line with your bat where you thought the ball was is worth an ejection (I was ejected for it once). The one question still out there for me about Harper is not his level of competition it's his attitude. Putting yourself in a position where you could be ejected from a WS game furthers this concern.

I've watched countless videos, read numerous articles, everything short of meeting the kid myself. Every indication points to him being pretty well rounded in the attitude department. He's 17. He's being hyped as the second coming of Christ, basically, and at least some of that is going to leak in and he's going to believe, occasionally, that maybe he is. I think people need to simply sit back and watch this very special kid just grow into whatever his place in the game will be. Whether you believe he'll cure cancer or fall flat on his face, he's 17 years old. Got a lot of maturing and growing up to do and of course, questions will abound, as they do with any other prospect. Maybe more so with this kid, since his potential meter is through the roof and he's so young, but for me, I think I'm going to sit back and enjoy the show, let him answer those questions himself.
