How come nobody around here is talking about this kid?

16 years old
Hit the longest HR in the history of Tropicana Field, over 500 feet
Scored on wild pitches from 2nd base 6 times
96mph fastball
Is a catcher

Anyway, it's time to start talking about the "Lebron of baseball"...

For what it's worth, this kid is a prodigious talent who has signed up to play JUCO ball this year after obtaining his GED. That way, he'll be eligible for the 2010 draft instead of the '11 draft. Undoubtedly, he'll go Top 5. Imagine if the Nationals end up with the worst record again, and go 1-1 two years running and have to pay Boras money to Stras and Harper!

I bet he goes #1 overall in 2010.

Imagine if the Nats don't sign Stras then they have the #1 and #2 picks and are stuck with the same dilemma all over again. All kinds of fun story lines and conjectures here.
In my fridge: Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS), Central Waters Peruvian Morning, Bell's Batch 10,000, Dale's Pale Ale, Capital Brewery Amber, New Glarus Moon Man, and Guinness.

His fantasy value is still at least 2 years away, although I am sure he will be drafted in a lot of drafts next year for keeper leagues.

If they do sign Stras(I think they will) I don't see how it's financially possible for them to give another drafted guy that type of money.

Why not? They aren't spending a fortune on the MLB team (27th ranked payroll without any long-term terrible contracts). And they have a good finacial backing. A team like that can easily afford two 20-25M guaranteed contracts (if that's what it came down to) for what are easily the two most talented players in both drafts.
