YAHOO Public League autodraft help

Postby rich101682 » Tue Mar 16, 2004 11:42 am

I changed the rankings that yahoo had for the first 60 players or so because that's all I had time for before class, and this is the team I ended up with when I came back:

C: Posada
1B: Teixeria
2B: Giles
3B: Ramirez
SS: Valentin
OF: Guerrero
OF: Giles
OF: Millar
UTIL: Gibbons
BN: J. Guillen
BN: C. Floyd

SP: Curt Schilling
SP: Tim Hudson
RP: Jason Isringhausen
RP: F. Rodriguez
P: Mark Mulder
P: Josh Beckett
P: Roy Oswalt
BN: Jeff Suppan
BN: John Burkett (forgot to get him out of my rankings)
BN: Jose Valverde

ANy comments? I've got 10th waiver priority, and I've already put claims on M. Cabrera, Edwin Jackson, and Danny Kolb. I'm going to drop Suppan, Burkett, and Valverde, and most likely K-Rod. Which closer would you pick up with Graves, Chacon, MacDougal, and Rhodes available? I'm thinking of trying to move a starter for a big infield bat, and looking for an upgrade at SS. And I don't trust Guillen since he struggled so much after going to the AL last year? Any comments? If you comment on my team, I'll do the same if you leave a link to yours!

Wow your starting pitching is pretty solid. ;-D I would also dump suppan and burkett. Is Rhodes available on waivers? He's a stud. If you dump Valverde you may come to regret it later when Mantei gets injured. Chacon's job is up in the air with Fuentes behind him. Is Wickman available? I like Jose Guillen this year. He's in a lineup with some pop (Anderson, Vladdy) and he's been doing well in spring training.

Holy Christ your pitching is awesome. Work on your SS position. Out of those closers I'd pick up Rhodes.

I dropped Valverde, Suppan, Burkett, and Rodriguez. I should be able to snag Rhodes or Kolb if that doesn't work out. I also put in claims on Cabrera, Jackson, Harden, and Milton too. If I get some of the lower ranked solid pitchers (Harden, Milton, etc.) then I can afford to move Beckett or Mulder for a better bat, especially at SS. One guy in our league has both Jeter and O. Cabrera, so I'm tryin to get one of them from him. Out of all my pitchers, which do you think I could/should trade for a bat?

Also, what do you all think of Gibbons/Floyd? I'm not very high on either of them. What do you think I could get for either/both in a trade?

As for the offensive free agents in our league, the following players are available:

Bradley, Patterson, Burrell, Klesko, Drew, Nick Johnson.

This is a good team for an auto-draft. Add a few pieces like an elite Closer and you should do very well.
