Clayton Kershaw to AAA???

Postby Verminator » Sun Jun 14, 2009 5:52 pm

There is nothing on Rotoworld's or CBS Sports' web site about this, but I crack open the Chicago Tribune today and read this...

Like a young Sandy Koufax, Clayton Kershaw is dealing with a bout of wildness. He was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque after walking four in 2 2/3 innings Wednesday. He has walked 4.8 per nine innings during his short big-league career; Koufax walked 4.8 per nine innings in his first three seasons.

Does anyone have any info on the possible demotion of Kershaw? My weekly league rosters lock tomorrow, and I am confused! Hold me! :-o
When it comes to exaggerating, I always give 110%.

Just looked at the Dodgers web site 25 man roster and Kershaw is still on it. Kershaw doesn't have the red "NA" against his name in Yahoo either.

If he was optioned I'm pretty sure the blurb would be on Rotoworld. Nothing of the sort on there for him.

Optioned to AAA or not, he's still useless. High whip, inconsistent, mediocre ERA at best. None of that is worth a few extra strikeouts. I dropped him.

Weird. I just ran "Clayton Kershaw" thru news.google.com and no such news from dozens of sources, except the Chicago Tribune article in question.

Kershaw has not been optioned;tribune just printed half the sentence it seems.

The tribune article read:
Like a young Sandy Koufax, Clayton Kershaw is dealing with a bout of wildness. He was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque after walking four in 2 2/3 innings Wednesday. He has walked 4.8 per nine innings during his short big-league career; Koufax walked 4.8 per nine innings in his first three seasons.

Should have read:
From cbs sports
Clayton Kershaw (3-5) threw 83 pitches over 2 2/3 innings in the second-shortest of his 33 big league starts, giving up three runs, five hits and four walks. The 21-year-old left-hander lasted only 2 1/3 innings in an 11-2 loss Aug. 28 at Washington, and was optioned to Triple-A immediately following that game.
