Porcello or Nolasco? Always WHIR!

Head to Head Non-Keeper (10 teams) Daily Trans.

R, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, K, OBP, W, L, CG, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP

C Victor Martinez
1B Prince Fielder
2B Robinson Cano
3B Adrian Beltre
SS Derek Jeter
OF Ryan Braun
OF B.J. Upton
OF Andre Either
UT Adam Jones
BN David Ortiz
BN Chris Davis

SP Tim Lincecum
SP Felix Hernandez
SP Yovani Gallardo
SP Adam Wainwright
SP Erik Bedard
SP Chris Carpenter
RP Heath Bell
RP Trevor Hoffman
RP Frank Francisco
DL Jake Peavy

I am very disheartened with the loss of Peavy as it is a big hit to my pitching, pitching which I have dominated so far in this league and it has carried me to being undefeated so far in week to week matchups but now I have lost my 2nd or 3rd best pitcher for who knows how long. I am at a loss at what to do now. I really need some help and I will gladly help in return.

I am trying to decide to who to pick up between a recently dropped Rick Porcello who is on a good team and has been great since the beginning of May or I could go with Ricky Nolasco who is on a team that's not as good but is starting to look like the Nolasco of '08. I think Nolasco has more upside but who is better the rest of the way in a non-keeper league?

Porcello seems to be on a pitch count, and I would expect that to be stringently enforced as the season wears on. I currently own both, and like both, but I would recommend Nolasco for the remainder of the season.

Update, I just realized Francisco finally got put on the DL as well so should I role with two closers and pick up both of these guys, see who pans out or use the other spot to pick up Francisco's replacement or a holds guy?

Hahaha.

Sure, how about a little trade idea?

My league's tough (for me) to trade in because there are a lot of guys ridiculously dedicated to their players. 12 team keeper H2H, 5 keepers per year.

I'm looking to move AGon because I have complete faith that he can't keep up his production-to-date.

Current roster:
C - Mauer*
1B - AGon*
2B - Phillips*
SS - Rollins*
3B - Huff (1B/3B)
LF - Damon
CF - Kemp
RF - Vlad
Util - Dukes
Bench - Barmes (every position including Point Guard)(actually playing while he's hot, this is a fluid spot that changes to whoever's hot at the moment)

SP - Halladay*
Porcello
Nolasco
Kershaw
Randy Wells
Dempster
Slowey
Blackburn
RP - Cordero
Franklin
Wood
Soriano

So, the league tracks 10x10 (R, 2B, 3B, HR, SB, K, BB, FPCT, AVG [for hitters] and IP, W, L, CG, SV, HLD, K, BB, WHIP, ERA [for pitchers]). My current keepers are *.

I'd like to move AGon because 1B is deep as a lake, and my preferred trade would be for a 3B or a studly arm to give Halladay some balance. I'm currently middle-of-the-pack and leading the league in HRs and RBIs. So, who would you go for in return for AGon?

Would it be impossible to go after a Miguel Cabrera? Even if it took a package deal. I would possibly look at him. If the guy is not that big on keeping Migs you could make a package deal and get a huge upgrade at 3B. That would be the first guy I looked at. Gonz and Migs production about pretty close so if you could get someone who's not wanting to faithfully keep Cabrera, I'd go after him.

While Mig's current slump is atrocious, the owner isn't interested in trading him yet. The owner's a buddy of mine from the Detroit area, so he's got a homer crush. He actually complimented me on the offer (because I'm more than willing to overpay to some extent).

Some other guys I've tried for have included Longoria, Reyes, Sizemore, and Haren. I currently have an offer out for BJ Upton and another for Johan, both straight up. I'm really trying to move AGon. :P

Anyone else you can think of? :)

I'd go with Nolasco. He's put in 2 solid starts since being called back up, including a 9 strikeout gem a couple days ago. I think he should finish the season strong.

Help? http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=390234

I also thought of Longoria but those are the two main guys I would go after if you can get them. And honestly if you need to overpay a little for either of these guys I would. Thanks again for the help on mine.

I like Nolasco too. I think Porcello will start to get pushed back and skipped as the season wears on. Nolasco was terrible in his first 9 starts, but he was also very unlucky. I think he's going to have a nice 2nd half.
