Olney's Latest: Atlanta's Potential Trade Partners

The A's could package Matt Holliday and Orlando Cabrera, both free agents after the season, for Escobar, who would step in as Oakland's shortstop of the future.

Why does it feel like Atlanta is keen to get rid of him?
How is his fielding? :-?

Not sure on fielding but I do know the managers and upper Braves players are tired of his antics in the clubhouse and on the field. Not too sure what all has gone on but from what I gather many people are saying he acts like a big baby.

Maybe you guys want to sell low on him then ;-7

Holliday 4 Escobar WHIR :-D

Are they going to go after any arms? I would love to see one more reliever (lefty specialist?) and at least some sort of offensive boost. :-{

If they were going to get Holliday, where would they put him? Wow.. has Henry really F' up this sCrUB team.

i dont remember what day it was but recently after Bradley and Piniella had the blow up i thought Bradley would have been gone soon after that.
could the Cubs actually trade him? or do his numbers and contract make him inmovable right now?

there was talk at mlbtraderumors.com that the Jays could look to trade Rios and/or Wells, but more likely Rios because Wells is pretty much inmovable.
what could the Jays get for Rios?
to me thats surprising, i know Rios hasnt been as good in June.. but i still think he can return to the level he was at in 2007.

as a Yunel Escobar owner i dont want to see him go to Oakland. id rather see him go to some place like Boston or Chicago Cubs, teams that had good lineups.

what happend to the talk of Holliday to St.Louis? it seemed like a couple weeks ago there was talk the Cardinals wanted Holliday and Ludwick would be one of the guys going to Oakland.

apparently the Reds are interested in the Rockies Garrett Atkins... but why?
Votto at 1B and Encarnacion at 3B. why the interest in Atkins?

rotoworld.com
Multiple sources told the Denver Post that the Reds have talked with the Rockies about acquiring Garrett Atkins.
The sources also said that the Red Sox's interest is dissipating. The Reds have liked Atkins since last winter, according to the Post. The biggest complication is money, with Atkins owed about $3.4 million for the remainder of this season.

EDIT- i can edit my post..
6:34pm: John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer spoke with the Reds and says it was the Rockies that called the Reds to see if they were interested in Atkins, adding that they are not. Fay sites the $3.4MM Atkins is owed and his position as reasons the Reds are not interested. Fay does say the Reds would be willing to add salary for the "right guy." He also says the Reds could trade a relief pitcher, but that it would probably not be Nick Masset.

as an Encarnacion owner, im happy.
