How many times have you watched a movie based on a book that you have read and you actually enjoyed the movie more than the book? Not many, I would guess.
I thought it was a joke all this time, but the trailer looks good. Seems like a Social Network for baseball fans. Brad Pitt is a curious choice for Beane, but a baseball movie with Brad Pitt as the lead? I highly doubt this movie fails. I can see the ending being like a Social Network/Animal House ending where they just list the players and how they did and finish with the AL West titles Oakland won.
I like the look of it, and though I would normally lean towards a DVD as well, I figure there's so few mainstream movies I'm interested in these days that this might be something I need to see in the fall just to get out of the house. Plus, been awhile since I've seen a good baseball movie...

Zero. The book is always better.
Godfather, LOTR, Bladerunner and all of the Bourne movies were better than the books.
