trade for Tex?!?

Postby dubstar » Sat Jun 13, 2009 11:37 pm

I give Pena and Billingsley for Tex. good deal? Bills has bee a huge part of my pitching, but I would be rolling the dice that Webb is effective in the second half for me.

I would be keeping Tex(we keep 3), and neither of the guys I would be trading. What do you think?

bump. Is this overpaying? Should I try to do another pitcher? If he won't budge is this deal ok for me?

Definitely try another pitcher first. If you can use any of your pitchers other than Greinke, Gallardo or Billingsley I would do it. Maybe even try Greinke straight up for Tex.

If I were to do it straight up I would have 3 first basemen and he would be without one.

So are you saying if it has to be bills an pena don't do it?

Pena is a solid Util guy in your lineup. I just don't think the downgrade on pitching is worth it in this situation.

i actually lean the other way

i think this would be a good deal for you (even more so in a keeper). With webb coming back (if you have faith in him, i do) he will solidify your rotation, but you'll be losing out on Bills K's. But the upgrade from Pena to Tex is huge (especially in Avg, xbh, rbis, even HR in yankee stadium).

i'd almost rather see you send Gallardo or Shields instead of Bills, but either works. (Gallardo just hasn't ever proven what he can do for a whole season, and Shields just doesn't do it for me though i know he puts up the numbers)

I'd be interested to know which 3 you'd be keeping, that lineup and rotation is stacked with young studs.

I like this deal too, you are going to have to make room for Webb sooner or later, and trading a 2 for 1 and getting a guy like TEX, is sweet.......You think Yankee Stadium II is jumping now, wait tell it hits July and August, (hotter weather) and they tear down the old Yankee stadium more of a jet stream will occur....equals more Homers.

GO FOR IT.

he says no to shields or gallardo... so its either pena/bills or nothing.

anyone care to chime in? i am still split, maybe just cause i have a man crush on billingsley....

i am going to see what SP he would be dropping and maybe just get that SP in return from him.

his starters are: lowe, baker, jurrjens, hamels, dice k, millwood, l hernandez
