CI for OF, WHIR

Postby Airborne24 » Sat Jun 13, 2009 11:43 am

I've got Prince, Figgins, Lowell, DLee, and Nick Johnson on my team, and only 4 spots (1B, 3B, CI, UT) with which to play them. for some reason my league (ESPN Standard 5x5, H2H league) which has been really active in past years has a ton of weenies who don't want to make trades.

One guy who has extra OFs and Hank Blalock burning a hole at his CI spot while Garret Atkins sits on his bench being the worst full time player in MLB, so he seems to be my best target for a trade.

Trade (my preference in this order)
Nick Jonhson
Mike Lowell
Derrek Lee

He's got Alex Rios, Jay Bruce, Nyjer Morgan, Corey Hart, Hunter Pence and Vlad. Morgan is on his bench, Vlad is his UT guy.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

C Mike Napoli
1B Prince Fielder

DL Josh Hamilton

I would try to hurry and buy low on Hart. Hart started out slow last year as well. Matter of fact, a few weeks ago he had more homers this year than he did last year at the same time. He'll turn it on and produce the same as he did last year. I think you can definitely get him for Lowell.

thanks for your help!

Don't get too crazy, Manny will be back followed by Hamilton, so you just need a stop gap.

I like the Stick, but one thing is for sure he will get hurt and be out for long periods of time, so he should be dealt before that happens. Since NJ is playing so well, start with Rios and then work down to Hart or Morgan. You could even afford to deal two players since you could slide Swish into a CI spot and replace him in the OF with your new acquisition, so maybe Pence is gettable in a 2-1 deal? I would not hold out too much hope that Vladdy will be real productive, so pass on him and Bruce is probably overpriced based on his power and raw talent.
