Not many details, so I don't know if this trade is in the works or just wishful thinking. I'd give up Smoltz for Porcello alone even in a one year league.

I think Smoltz will have a good year, but Nolasco was a top guy before the season and seems to have regained his form (holding a tough TOR team down).

EDIT: i guess saw keeper and then read the 1st response and had tunnel vision. In a NONkeeper i'd still make the deal. (for Nolasco alone if need be)

It does say NON keeper so I'm not sure why the previous posts are talking as if it is. Porcello has been great, and Nolasco looks to be improving, and Smoltz is old and a big risk IMO. All that points to taking the deal. I don't think Smoltz is gonna win anyone their league, but I could see him being very good. But I'd still make the deal.

I think you have to roll on these young guys coming around and contributing as much as they have.

Do you have to drop another player? This could factor in, but I like the move. I have rostered Smoltz, but he is no sure thing. I'd do it if offered the same.
