Pick up Braun.....WHIR

Postby coleman1027 » Fri Jun 12, 2009 5:56 pm

For Broxton......I've got this offer on the table now......
Seems it would certainly help in HR and OBP which I'm not doing well in.....Saves I'm leading in by 15....
Currently in 3rd in a 10 team yahoo Roto league.....about 10points back
The guy giving up Braun is way back in Saves.....but would likely pick up points in saves with Broxton, he's currently just a head of me in the standings....

I've sent him an email response that it's interesting what he's offered, and whether or not he'd take any other closer with Rios or Hart for Braun.......To take another OF on the roster I'll most likely have to drop someone soon to help some manuverabiltiy issues......

My current OF's
OF Raúl Ibañez(Phi - OF)
OF Adam Lind(Tor - OF)
OF Álex Ríos(Tor - OF)
Util Andre Ethier(LAD - OF)
BN Corey Hart(Mil - OF)
BN Manny Ramírez(LAD - OF)

My current RP's
RP Kerry Wood(Cle - RP)
RP David Aardsma(Sea - RP)
P LaTroy Hawkins(Hou - RP)
P Jonathan Broxton(LAD - RP)
P Brian Fuentes(LAA - RP)

Ask him if he'll take a 2 for 1 deal. Give him hawkins and another closer for Braun

If you get that 2 for 1 for Braun, that's a steal for you. Do it and laugh all the way to the bank.

if you could get something like a Hawkins or any other closer with Hart or Rios for Braun it would be amazing, but if he backs out of that then do the Brox for Braun deal, that would be huge for you to have an OF consisting of Braun, Ibanez and Ethier and then have Manny at an OF/UTIL slot when he comes back, and still have Fuentes, Wood and Aardsma as a three headed closer committee is a good situation to be... ive always went on id rather trade big pitching for big bats rather then big bats for big arms... good deal for you either way...

Well....It appears it's gotta be Broxton for Braun........he doesn't have interest in any others.....and packaging Hart/Rios is a no as well.....Understandable about Hart.....I don't want him either....

I'm confused...are you really debating about giving up a stud closer for a stud OF? Give me Braun in an instant, then try to trade one of your excess OF to replace the SV, no brainer!

;-D It's too early in the season to be looking at standings for a single category and overanalyzing things. You have 4 closers, so you can take the loss. That's just too much value to refuse for a closer, even a great one. Do this trade, and think about others. Now would be a great time to sell high on Ibanez or Lind, for example.

I agree with the previous few posters. Make the obvious deal now and add Braun. I'd look to sell Lind for some relief help afterwards.
