should i pick up Kazmir and risk having to drop Floyd?
if i pickup both kazmir (store him on my dl) and floyd...then to activate Kazmir i'll have to drop floyd or i'll be unable to make any roster moves until i move the (non-DL player) out of my DL slot.

i would take this chance... if you can't make a move for a week or 2 i would take that handinhand with making sure Kazmir has everything worked out... no way Kazmir should be a FA, hell even on Yahoo hes owned by 81% of teams... i rank them about the same...
I am not a Floyd fan myself. I would probably take Smoltz and Kazmir when healthy over the other 2 although there is some risk involved. Floyd has been horrible until his last few outings and his numbers tailed off at the end last year. I would even take a chacne on Hanson over Floyd.
Scott Kazmir dl John Smoltz dl Tommy Hanson Gavin Floyd
These guys are out of the equation completely:
Kris Medlen Ben Sheets na LaTroy Hawkins

I'd take Kazmir, Floyd or Hanson in that order. I'm not a fan of Floyd either, but he's been money the past 4 starts or so. Kazmir has the most upside so I'd take him first.
For my two cents I say Kazmir's the best pickup purely off of upside, as there'd be no question he's the best pitcher in this group if he wasn't returning from injury.
After that, I like Hanson's potential as worthwhile flier as well. Then probably Floyd, who's been the most consistent choice.
Smoltz is worth keeping an eye on for sure, but I can't rank him ahead of guys who are producing when his injury battles are clearly chronic and the result of his career winding down. He can definitely still pitch, but even when healthy, can he really go deep enough into games to get wins anymore?

Medlen, Ben Sheets, and Hawkins were put in there to evaluate who's recommendations i would take seriously.
smoltz did go 6 innings tonight in his rehab start, but he only threw 70 pitches, and with Penny unwilling to go to the pen Smoltz might be stuck there until the Theo can move Penny.
