Quentin's Keeper Value

Postby cnasty » Fri Jun 12, 2009 1:07 pm

If this guy happens to miss the rest of the season which is obsurd what would you guess his 2010 value is. This year his ADP was around 30. Does he stay in the top 50? 75? I have no idea but he is still young in a hitters park and was a big prospect and had a monster break out last year. Also two wierd ass injuries that barely have to do with baseball, does this make him injury prone. In my league we keep 8 players you have to value him in the top 90 right. I still think he is good next year but thats a biased answer seeing that i need him to be good or else i wasted the last pick of the third round on him.

2010 line: .280 33 HR 110RBI 95 Runs

I'm struggling with what to do with him at this point too...

I would keep him if I had 8 keeper spots.

He is a keeper! Honestly, he's too good to dump and it's not like the injury is to his shoulder or arm...it's a foot thing which should be no big deal.

BUY LOW for those who can

I am in a 12-team keeper in which we will keep 13 players next season. Right now, I am stashing him on the DL, and realizing that reports of Quentin missing the rest of the season are coming from Ozzie Guillen's mouth, and he is known to have diahhrea of the mouth at times. I dont believe for a second that he wont be back this year, Ozzie is just using the media to rally his troops and acting bush league, as usual for him.

That said, I personally am not necessarily keeping him. Here are the keeper prospects:

Joe Mauer
Miguel Cabrera
Jose Reyes
Ian Kinsler
Prince Fielder
Matt Holliday
Carlos Quentin
Brian Roberts
Andre Ethier
Roy Oswalt
Clayton Kershaw
Jered Weaver
Johnny Cueto
Max Scherzer
Jair Jurrjens
Aaron Harang
Francisco Cordero
Heath Bell

Gonna have to deal 5 guys for draft picks hopefully, and being that 4 of the 12 owners are ChiSox fans, Quentin might get the best value.
