Greinke for Adrian Gonzalez? Can my pitching staff survive?

Postby stinkmeat » Fri Jun 12, 2009 11:48 am

5X5 roto

I recently offered grienke/martin for mauer/gallardo but he refused. I also tried grienke/davis for chipper/gallardo also refused. Now he is proposing the deal above. I'm very tempted to take it as I believe Agonz has demonstrated a lot more leadup to his current production level than Greinke and I think he represents a bigger upgrade for my team. Your thoughts?

pitchers on the WW include: baker, hanson, morrow, outman, john maine.

My Team:
c-sandoval
1b-adam laroche
2b-jose lopez
3b-beltre
ss-alexei

bn-martin
bn-hardy
bn-felipe lopez
dl-sizemore

SP-greinke, liriano, cueto, jimenez, K.escobar
RP-wilson, bailey, leo nunez

His Team:
c-mauer
1b-agonz
2b utley
3b-branyan
ss-barmes
of-upton
of-bourn
of-cameron
ut-chipper
bn-j reyes(DL)
bn-votto(DL)
bn-quentin(DL)
bn-dave ortiz

sp-gallardo, millwood, cain, kuroda, harden(DL), Mazzaro
rp-franklin, aardsma

I read that Escobar is no longer a starter..If you want to be sneaky try this..

Grienke and Escobar
For
Gonzo and Kurudo(or Cain)

just a little sneaky, but you can look at that current offer now..

You get gonzo, which is a huge upgrade of Laroche, however you are minus a SP and thos WW(maybe baker) (hanson growing pains)does not sound good..

You can use gonzo, but you will have a whole is SP

I would prob do that, and hope baker and hanson can prove to be good..

try the sneaky offer though.... :)

Thanks for help with mine

Thanks for the help ... sorry for missing this earlier.

I sort of like the "sneaky" idea above, but in the interest of fair play, I would ask for Gonzo and Kuroda, as Gonzo and Cain would be the kind of highway robbery that might sow the seeds of ill will later on. Gonzo is steady as they come and may be breaking out for good. Greinke is great but you take the steady, proven guy in Gonzo and trade for SP later IMO...

I would do this deal. Gonzalez is an amazing upgrade over LaRoche. Your pitching staff should be just fine, you may have to scour the wire in the upcoming weeks to find one or more fill-in options. I would still do it though.

Help out:

thnx for the help

all things equal i'd keep Grienke...but in your situation i'd make the deal and get Gonzo--still a lil risky IMO but do it...and get Hanson..

so the deal is:

Grienke for Gonzo/Hanson

I think Hanson can have a Lincecum rookie effect this year--nevermind his first start
