I would stick with Relaford, DeRosa is batting .208 so far and the
Braves have other options.

That's DeRosa's job to lose at 3b. I really think he's going to see the bulk of the playing time there. Who else are they going to play? Marte? I don't think he's ready yet.

Well, let's put it this way... DeRosa is the best option the Braves have right now. As you said Marte isn't ready yet.....He should see the most playing time...

Here are some other possibilities for the Braves third base situation:

1. They could send Chipper back to third and let prospect Mike Hessman play LF.

2. Marcus Giles could move to 3rd and Nick Green and Jesse Garcia could see some action at 2nd.

DeRosa showed in 2002 that he can hit, so lets see what he does. But til then....stick with Relaford...He'll at least get you some steals....

DeRosa has an additional attraction. He's the only starting position player who qualifies in Yahoo at 2B, 3B, and SS. He therefore provides the maximum flexibility for being a backup for your other players who may be hurting or just not playing on a particular day.

I think those projections are a little optimistic, but DeRosa can hit.

FWIW, TSN's Scouting Notebook projects .266 48 R 4 HR 30 RBI 5 SB with 323 AB.

I think the truth is somewhere in between that projection and the aforementioned projection in this thread.
