H2H league, minimum innings pitched, but inactive owners

Postby Dalingh » Thu Jun 11, 2009 11:31 pm

In our H2h 10 team league we have a minimum requirement of 20 innings pitched each week. If a team fails to have 20 innings pitched then they forfeit all 11 pitching categories. We have had this happen quite a few times actually (there are 3 owners who have abandoned their teams). Any recommendations on how to handle this problem? Basically is there a way to compensate for when a team receives basically 11 "bonus" wins because their opponent failed to set their roster.

Yeah, find 3 replacement owners.

nothing you can do and if the owner really abandoned their teams then it will be equal 11 wins for all owners. so it shouldnt be a problem.

We've had this same problem only every 3 weeks or so, those teams seem to make minimum innings due to their pitchers having 2 starts that week. It really is ruining the league. Some teams will totally destroy them due to them losing all the pitching categories and then every 3 weeks (if you happen to play them) a team might actually have to struggle against them due to them actually "making" minimum innings. Especially now with teams trying to lock up a playoff spot. I suggested emptying their rosters and having a mid-season draft, but that was voted a no. Their teams are so out of even a playoff spot right now, that no new owner would even think of jumping in right now. Anyone have any suggestions?

Well, it's a little complicated but you can do this: give the inactive teams to other owners in the league (of course not the ones playing against them that week), rotating them every week.

For example, if I play against an inactive team this week, the commissioner gives it to the owner of the team next to me in the standings. In this way he should be careful enough in running it.

of course, you should change passwords for the access every week for each inactive team, and email it to the new temporary owner, so I don't know if it's worth trying...

with not knowing your roster limits....if you only have 20 min IP...well thats only 3 starts with any RP innings. why cant you just put 3 starters in starting spots and make sure each week that those SPs are active...that should solve it as they would get the min IP with no outside help
