There's an owner in my league who has kept both of these guys on the bench for at least a week. My outfielders have been lackluster (thanks to Ordonez and Abreu), so maybe the time is right for a move. This guy's pitching staff looks like it could use some help, so I was thinking SP for OF. This is my team at the moment:
10-team Yahoo redraft H2H, 6x6 scoring (with OPS and holds)
C: McCann 1B: Teix 2B: Utley 3B: Lowell SS: Zobrist OF: Carlos Lee OF: Damon OF: Abreu Util: Ordonez - OF Bn: Drew - SS, Werth - OF DL: Aramis Ramirez - 3B
SP: Halladay, Grienke, Gallardo, Carpenter, Danks, Edwin Jackson, Price, Slowey RP: Soria, Franklin, Madson, L Hawkins DL: Smoltz
What do you think would be reasonable offers for those 2 outfielders? Carpenter + Ordonez? Maybe sell high on Jackson + Ordonez (or is that insultingly lowball)? Since he needs help at 2B, maybe dangle Zobrist + a mid-tier SP(though Zobrist has been a huge help to my lineup)? Anything else? Leave a link and I'll answer yours.
I'd do Gallardo and Abeau for Soriano. It's worth a shot. Don't give up Carp if you can avioid it. Soriano's ba is pretty low and Abreau's SB numbers are inflated, so he may bite on that.
I think some of your offer depends on how this owner has made moves in the league so far (Is he patient and trusts players will come around or does he think"what have you done for me lately"). I think Edwin Jackson would be a lowball offer just because of history. Either of two guys youre dealing for have a pedigree of MLB success that EJackson doesnt have. (Now, if this guy has made moves saying he looks at this year only, the maybe). Its worth a shot to go something like: Edwin Jackson PLUS Magglio FOR Markakis OR Soriano
If he doesnt like that, then go to Carpenter. If he doesnt like that then you could try to do a pitcher like Gallardo straight up.

Thanks for the detailed help on mine
That's exactly what I would try. Jackson and Maggs.
I agree, try working some combo of either Mags or Abreu plus a SP for the OF pair. You might even sell high on Greinke if it'll get you the return you are looking for.
Try Carpenter and Werth for Soriano. I think Gallardo > Carpenter given the health risks and Werth is meh right now. Soriano is killing my team, i will warn you, but that just means he is due...
I have Maggs and can't give him away, and would not trade Gallardo unless your last resort. I am leery in general of Soriano, although he seems to always get his numbers. I agree with one of the previous posts and try packaging Carpenter with an OF...you may try Maggs first to see if it works, especially because of the name vallue Carpenter has.
Thanks for the help. I ended up sending out a EJackson/Ordonez for Markakis offer. Figured I'd start low and see where that takes us. And if he looks at Yahoo O-ranks, it looks about even. And I left a note with the offer - that I'd be willing to consider other combinations, including moving up a tier in SP to get Soriano. And that I wouldn't be inclined to trade my "super-aces" (Halladay or Grienke) for just 1 outfielder upgrade - though I'd be willing to part with them for upgrading 2 outfielders.
We'll see. It might take a few days. He's kind of a casual fbb manager. He generally keeps on top of things, but only seems to check on his team 2 or 3 times a week. Even though I'm obviously trying to get the best of a trade, I honestly think he can improve his team by working something out with me. He has 6 outfielders that merit a starting spot, so at least one of them is going to waste away on his bench. And his pitching rotation looks a bit flimsy. And if he was smart, he'd think about getting Zobrist - that would be a giant upgrade at his 2B position.
Jackson + Ordonez for Markakis got accepted Now I have to hope Markakis gets his act together and starts hitting again. Though I feel better about him than I do with Maggs. And there are good SPs on the WW to fill in the roster spot (Baker, Nolasco, Floyd, Porcello) vacated by Jackson - not to mention Smoltz when I'm confident he's returned.
