I have him too and it's driving me nuts.

The question I have is, everyone is saying he will snap out of it/rebound/etc... Sure, when you are this bad for this long, you can only get better right?

So rebound to what exactly? To what level? Baltimore is going nowhere fast and he is a big part of that. Even when he rights the ship, imo he won't be the dynamo he was last season. expect a turnaround, but not to what fantasy poolers are hoping IMO.

I am hoping to trade him to someone selling the rebound stuff hard.

Why is that? The team and offense is measurably better than it was last year.
Why can't he come out of his slump and produce like he has before in an equal or better lineup?

The funny thing about baseball stats is that they tend to average out over the season; You didn't think he was going to hit .381 all season after April did you? For every hot streak that brings stats up to insane levels you have to figure on some cold streaks to bring it crashing down to the levels you were expecting pre-season. He's hitting .286 now; His career stats place him at about .290-.306 He has 7 HRs so far; He's been hitting about 20-25ish;

Overall. Nothing appears to be alarming with Nick Markakis.

He's stopped hitting LHP.

2008: .297/.381/.462
2009: .237/.280/.301

Adjust your usage accordingly.

P.S - I love how when there is a problem with a player all the Seinfeld's on the board come out and make threads. ;-7

Didn't even notice that; ;-D If previous years hold true he has 100 more LH ABs to increase that.

Actually last year he really sucked in May like he did this year, but he hit .339 in June, so last year he'd snapped out of it by now.

Players slump, but you don't expect players like Markakis to slump 6-7 consecutive weeks or more like his current "I want to be sent down" streak.

3 to 4 weeks. you can give him that based his hot start.

7 to 8 weeks? if you aren't alarmed by this 'slump' you don't have a pulse. I mean, it's every single category, he does NOTHING. It's not like he is stealing bags in between sucking like V. Wells.
