Quentin!!

:~(

Since when did he tear a tendon in his foot?! I thought this was going to be a quick DL stint... I should have traded him when I had the chance!

"White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said that he doesn't expect Quentin to return until after the All-Star break, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Spin:
He just recently started jogging after suffering a torn tendon in his foot on May 25, so if this report holds up, look for Quentin to remain sidelined for at least the next month. Scott Podsednik and Brian Anderson will continue to play regularly for the White Sox while Quentin is on the shelf."

I was looking forward to his return as soon as this weekend. Since when did he have a torn tendon?! What happened to plantar fasciitis? Did they misdiagnose it and then just neglect to tell us until now?

She said that the first night that she met me
She said "there's gonna be a time when I'm gonna have to go with whoever's gonna get me the highest."

apparently plantar fascitis is inflammation of the tendon on the bottom of the heel but I guess they found out it's torn. All along Guillen was saying that it was no biggy... :-°

I saw a headline somewhere last night that said he'd be out until after the allstar break. Personally, whether he's healthy or not, I thought he was overrated, at least in yahoo's preseason rankings.

Well, this certainly doesn't help. It's from CBSSportsline:

News: The Chicago Tribune reports that White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen suggested Wednesday that if the White Sox get knocked out of contention early, Carlos Quentin may be better served sitting out the remainder of the season. Guillen also said Wednesday that he does not expect Quentin back until after the mid-July All-Star break. "If Carlos is back before the All-Star break, it's a blessing," Guillen said. "We'll be lucky. But I told Carlos, 'I don't want you to be a hero. I want you to go on the field when you can go on the field. If you can't do anything about it, just make sure to let me know.'"
Analysis: Quentin was eligible to be activated from the 15-day disabled list Wednesday but hasn't played since May 25, when he said he tore a tendon in his left foot while running out a double. He has continued to swing a bat with a protective boot on his foot but knows that running will be the big issue. Fantasy owners should continue to stash him for his offensive upside, but be aware that his season could end prematurely at any point if the White Sox fall out of the race.

I don't know what 's more ridiculous here: my 2nd round pick potentially gone for the season or Ozzie already thinking about the White Sox season being over. I feel sorry for you ChiSox fans...
