Trade Hamilton for M.Young - Selling Too Low?

Postby jmcampbe11 » Wed Jun 10, 2009 12:10 pm

ALL - PLEADE REPLY TO MY NEW POST? SOMEONE HAS OFFERED ME LACKEY FOR HAMILTON SO I HAVE ANOTHER OPTION - viewtopic.php?t=389666

10 team roto league. I'm in first place, but I just lost Sizemore and Hamilton to the DL. Do I maked this trade and try and salvage the season? Keep in mind we keep three players each season in this league.

GIVE - Hamilton
GET - M.Young

Young would be an upgrade for me at MI over either Steward/Beckham. I'd still have Longoria, Sizemore, and either Greinke or A.Gonzalez as my potential keepers. Also, keep in mind batting avg is my weakest category (i.e., Young would help).

[b]MY TEAM

C-Martin 1b-A.Gonzalez 2b-Phillips ss-Alx.Ramirez 3b-Longoria CI-C.Jones MI-Stewart(or Beckham)
OF-Adm.Jones, Ludwick, Dye, Choo, Kubel Util-Reimold (or Crisp) Bench-*Hamilton, *Sizemore
SP-Greinke, Gallardo, Lilly, Jimenez, K.Escobar, Danks
RP-Broxton, Qualls, B.Wilson

This is selling too low, IMO. Stewart is a decent play at MI. Sizemore and Hamilton being out shouldn't hurt you too much. After all, neither one was really producing. If you are in first, you should be able to add replacements that can match what they were producing, since they weren't giving you much anyway. They'll both be back by August, and they both will probably start producing soon after. You'll be in good shape at that point.

Anyone else? I was actually leaning towards accepting this. Talk me out of (or into) it.

I wouldn't do it. Shop Hamilton and you can do better.

At worst, if nobody wants him while he's on the DL, you're "stuck" having him when he gets back.
