BIG trade or little trade (which one)

Postby plainyogurt » Tue Jun 09, 2009 11:06 pm

Think I need two players (closer and catcher) however changed a little by me grabbing Macdougal(I know he is not that much, but still a closer)...

I need a CONSISTENT catcher...If I get a closer that is extra points...

BIG trade:
Dunn For Mauer.....Am I giving up too much power?
Fielder and Tulo For Mauer and Beltran....Does this have any chance??
Fielder(or Berkman) for Mcann and Nathan...Kill two birds with one stone

Little Trade
Tulo or Hardy(which one) for Soto or Martin or Sandoval

I know soto and martin are struggling but should turn it around..great buy low

Which deal would you do..If it does not match, can you take a look at my roster and see who would you deal...THANKS!!!!!

Thanks for the help in mine.. All the trades you first listed I like.. Dunn is power yes, but Mauer is at a shallow position and you should do whatever you gotta do to snag him.

IMO by far your best option is the third one, Berkman for McCann and Nathan, but I would be shocked as heck if that got accepted, and the way Fielder has been swinging, I would be reluctant to give him up. I don't think the second one will be accepted either. As for the first one, that is a coin flip because I don't know if Mauer will keep up the power or Dunn will keep his average up.

I think you could get more in trade for Tulo, and I would be fine trading him because I think Hardy is going to have a decent second half. I would not try to get Martin and am not as certain about Soto as you are, but I would try him second after Sandoval.

Also, thanks for help on mine.

I think the Dunn for Mauer is the best option for you. I dont like giving up Fielder and if I had to choose I would give Berkman but I dont like either trade.

Tulo or Hardy for any of the catchers listed is good since neither Tulo or Hardy are anything great.
I'm not big on tradng for closers ( but i'm a roto player) since over the season someone will get hurt and if your dilligent you can pick one up off the waiver, so I never trade power for a closer.

Hope that helps
