HUGE TRADE! BIG NAMES! NEED HELP! WHIR AS ALWAYS!

Postby Therobsclub » Tue Jun 09, 2009 8:56 pm

My ARod, Braun, Phillips and Joba for HIS Johan, Kinsler, Pence and Lowel

I don't like this trade, but he does have some good pitching that I would like to have. Here is his team...
HIS TEAM:
C - Martin 1B - Helton 2B Kinsler 3B Lowell SS Escobar OF Pence OF Crawford OF Lind UTIL Figgins BN Quentin

Pitchers: Santana, Peavy, Billingsly, Wolf, King Felix, Harang
RP's: Rodney, Street, Hawkins, Soriano, Choate.

I'm not sure if I want to give up all those big names. I'd be OK with trading ARod or Braun, but think I would need more from him than just that. I guess I could do ARod, Phillips, and Joba for Santana, Kinsler and someone else? I don't know. Help please? Do I just stay as is?

I know my team is stacked so don't ask if it's real or not. A couple trades and pickups with a good draft gave me this.

WHIR!

MY TEAM:
C - Matt Wieters
1b - Albert Pujols
2b - Brandon Phillips
3b - Alex Rodriguez
SS - Michael Young
OF - Johnny Damon
OF - Ryan Braun
OF - Jacoby Ellsbury
Util - Miguel Cabrera
Bn - Vlad Guerero

SP - Josh Beckett
SP - CC Sabathia
RP - Bobby Jenks
RP - Jonathon Broxton
P - Joakim Soria
P - Andrew Bailey
P - Joba Chamberlain
BN Chris Young
BN Chris Carpenter
BN Tommy Hanson
BN Max Scherzer
DL - Edinson Volquez

Well, look at it this way:

A-Rod >>>>>>>>> Lowell
Braun >>>>>>>>> Pence
Phillips <<< Kinsler
Joba <<<<<<<<<<< Johan

You're on the losing end (big-time) of two players, and on not enough of a winning side of the other two to make up the difference. Depends on your needs and position in the standings, I guess, but I don't take this deal unless he throws in something juicy.

Little help? http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=389536

Not too good to look at it that way you have to compare the bset players in the deal and go down.
The way I see it:

Braun as of now is the best player your giving up followed by a close Arod. I see Braun as better than Johan even more so with your SP depth. Arod is higher up than Kinsler and with phillps/joba not being too much of a diffrence from pence/Lowell but the phills side is better. In this trade your giving up too much If you really want Johan that bad a trade with maybe a package deal going for johan and buy low on quentin would work out for you.

I htink it is pretty close but I say no deal. You don't need Johan. If you had zero SP, then I'd say yes. See if you can lose the Braun/Pence part of the deal. It makes a better deal for you if you can.

Joe has it exactly right.

I hate deals like this... there's just too much going on, with too many big names involved. Scale it back a bit, and put AROD or Braun out on the block to get two second or thrid rounders back, and you'll do better for helping you team.

Help here?
