My J.Lopez for Casilla and Escobar?(WHIR)

Postby kidsilk » Tue Jun 09, 2009 2:29 pm

AL only league, 10 teams, 23 man rosters, 7 keepers with 3 year contracts, 5x5 roto style.

I have been offered Alexi Casilla and Kelvim Escobar for my Jose Lopez. Now, I could use another quality starter but is Casilla too much of a drop off from Lopez and is Escobar's injury risk too high to accept this trade. What do you guys think?

Also who would you drop to bring back Bonderman next week? Or should I just drop Bonderman? Let me know and leave your links. Thanks.

It's not a bad deal -- Escobar could be an asset. Lopez has yet to really shine so it's not a major loss.

I will say that I think you should consider just dropping Bonderman, but if you wanted him then maybe drop Getz or Murphy.

can you take a look at my Lincecum-MCab again? the offer changed and is on the table now. Thanks.

I would take this trade, I like Escobar and you can easily replace Lopez, he is nothing special (.236 average with 6 homers %-6 .) There are probably guys available on the WW who would be a nice upgrade from him.

Help with mine?

There is noone on the WW as this is a very deep AL only league.

I would still do it. Escobar is a solid pickup.

Agreed. I'm really not that high on Lopez either, while Escobar could really be ab asset to you.

thanks for helping with mine

the drop off from Lopez to Casilla is pretty large, and even larger in a AL only league. I think i stay put here, even though i like escobar a lot (he's too much of injury risk to move a top AL 2b)

thanks for the help on mine

Anyone else have an opinion?

Also I have been offered Coco Crisp and Brad Bergensen for my RIck Porcello and David Murphy. I need some speed but is it worth giving up Porcello here and if so should I ask for a better pitcher in return than Bergensen?

I would take a chance on Escobar considering Lopez is a pretty small price to pay - when healthy Escobar could be a solid #2 type starter

I would keep Porcello/Murphy or ask for a better pitcher in return - and we are assuming Crisp is healthy

just out of curiosity, where does Joes Lopez rank among Al only 2b?
