Offer [strike]Dunn[/strike] A Soriano or Torii for Manny?

Postby TomBrooklyn » Mon Jun 08, 2009 1:20 am

I was offered Manny and Denard Span for Adam Dunn back on May 30 when Manny had 29 games left on his suspension. I turned that down.

I'm thinking about proposing the same offer now that Manny has 29 games served and 21 games left to go.

- I'm 1st in HRs by 9HRs. I can give up a little there and probably still retain the top spot.

- I'm second in RBIs, 24 back and 7 ahead of 3rd place. I could slip one or two spots there.

- I'm 9th in RBI and might slip a spot or two there.

- I'm 8th in SB and am creeping up on 7th. Span might help me lock up 7th and maybe a little more if I kept him on for a while.

I started out 1st in AVE but I've been slipping there for the last several weeks and now I'm 3rd. Manny could probably help me there as Dunn has .258 now.

Oh, for sure. Manny is way better overall than Dunn, and Span's decent.

I was in the same situation with you in HRs (just didnt have that much of a gap between me and 2nd place) I traded away Dunn for Manny straight up last week (at the 25 game mark). I think Im going to be happy I did... just 21 more to go!

I have Dunn on my team and I really like him, if you drafted Dunn you had to know what you were getting....all power no average. However so far he has been hitting for a better average than I expected so that is an added bonus and the tremendous power is there. That being said Manny is one of the greatest hitters of our lifetime and even though he is nuts and a steroid freak I would still take him over most players anyday. Plus Denard Span is no slouch and he will help you with steals with are always valuable. I would make this trade.

Help with mine?

OK. Thanks for the feedback. It looks unanimous so far.

I made the offer and will see if he is still willing to accept it now.

Regards.

You're pretty stacked. I'd take it. Span can do ok for Dunn, but ManRam over Dunn overall is immense. Worse case scenario Span is a 3 week rental then the waiver wire. I'd do it.
Help me....

My offer has been refused, so I guess the timeframe that other team was willing to trade away Manny has passed. Maybe I should have taken him a week ago when the offer was made. Manny had 29 games left on his suspension at the time.

Re: Offer A. Soriano For Manny, or Torrii Hunter?

Postby TomBrooklyn » Thu Jun 18, 2009 6:13 pm

A new offer just came in today: Manny and Juan Rivera for Torii Hunter. (Span just went on the DL)

I refused that and countered with Manny and Juan Rivera for ALFONSO SORIANO!

What do you think?
